GREEN IDEAS!

TEACH YOUR PARENTS WELL!

Avoid products that are packaged for single use (i.e., drinks, school lunches, candy, cat and dog food, etc.). Instead, buy in bulk and transfer the products to your own reusable containers. Many health food stores have bulk bins where they sell everything from grains to cereal to cleaning products.

If you live within a mile or so from your school, try taking your kids via a "walking bus." Walk to school as a group! Organize your neighbors and develop a "bus route." The furthest stop away from school starts, then "picks up" the next nearest, etc. Reverse the plan for the trip home. Parents deal with the timing and safety issues, and everyone gets some exercise, meets their neighbors, and creates very little pollution. Truly public transportation!

SIGN THE PETITION FOR MOTHER EARTH!

Kids for Earth Day Unite
Target:
School age students k-12
Sponsored by:
Kris Wilson, www.itsasmallworld.ning.com
This petition is for school age students K-12 all around the world to sign and present to the leaders of the only home we have, Earth! We unite together to let you know that we demand to be heard. It is our future at stake and we feel that much much more needs to be done to protect our fragile home. Show us that you care by being strong leaders that we can look up to and respect. You had a chance to live in a clean environment so please let us and our own children also have that opportunity!

The letter presented will be the following:

We the undersigned want to let our leaders around the world know that we feel very strongly about the future of our home, Earth. It's our future and our childrens future that's at stake. We see everyday what's happening with our water and air and know that as leaders in your corner of the world much more can be done. We get it and we want you to also by passing laws that will protect our habitats, our wildlife, and help bring back the balance that our Earth cries out for. Please put your politics and greed aside and think about us, the next generation. Let us all be better stewards of our home and as leaders of this world show us that you care. We're counting on you! Please don't let us down. Let us want to be like you when we get older by being a good example. Give us a chance to live on this Earth as it was intended. Thank you for taking us seriously. The future generations of our only home, Earth.

WHEN SIGNING PLEASE PUT IN COMMENT BOX YOUR AGE AND WHERE YOU CALL HOME!

Welcome kids from around the world!

On this site we want you to have a voice and share your creative ideas on what we adults can do to make your future on our home better! Let us know what is happening in your corner of the world and what you are doing. Through our forums here you'll have the opportunity to be heard and share ideas. In time we'll set up a petition for all of you to sign to give our leaders so that they will hear you! You are a big part of this and we will listen to any suggestions you may have. Thank you for being apart of this. Together we can make a change. We all live in this small world togehter as one.

Also coming up:
Eco Fantasy Tour, the book and CD, will be launched Earth Day 2008! Soon after it will come to life on stage. We will let you know when future casting calls will be held. The story is a magical journey through the forest from camp to Recycle City. Cousin Nature along with 7 children from around the world will make the journey through many different habitats and stopping at Grandpa Weaver's Farm, a Native American Pow wow, Hilliconia in fairyland, the elves at Recycle City and even take part in a Game Show, Earth Feud! And of course, Vincent Van Yuk, who wants to make Earth trashyland. He's too stupid to see his vision of our home come to light. The show will be taped live in a 2000+ seat theater full of children. Our hope is to have as many children around the world as possible to see the show via video. Then we plan to have available materials for you to put the show on yourselves! On this site we will keep you updated and will be open to any suggestions you may have. For more info on that you can visit: www.myspace.com/ecofantasytour, www.ecofantasytour.org, or http://network.earthday.net/profiles/ecofantasytour

Pride of Boddhisatva
The deaf-mute performers, aged between 14 and 19, learn their art the hard way - through sign language with the trainers. Their determination makes up for their physical disability and each move is practiced exactly 100 times to get it right. It has taken the troupe a year to master such an intricate dance, spendi… Continue

TEACH YOUR PARENTS WELL

Have a kid swap party - Don't buy more clothes or toys, host a kid swap party and swap toys and clothes with other parents.

Use your voice
If you or your child is concerned about an environmental issue, sit down and write a letter together. "One letter sent the old-fashioned way, as opposed to e-mail, can greatly influence your congressperson or senator," says Moore. You can find contact information for your elected congressional representatives and senators online.
